In 2009, VDMS established an Alumni Association for graduates who attended a university or professional education institute with a scholarship of the VDMS. In order to work together with each region, the alumni committee formed a Regional Representative (RR). Officially, RR Padang was established in 2012. The purpose of the alumni association is amongst others to facilitate the building of networks, to extend the bond the alumni have formed with VDMS as in motto: Learn, Share, Encourage, and to conduct inspiring activities.

RR Padang was established in 2012

On January 13th, 2013 RR Padang conducted its first activity entitled The Global Employment Challenges Workshop. There were 13 alumni attending this first alumni event on Jalan Azizi No. 112 Padang. Introduction and getting-to-know session was done at the beginning of the meeting. In order to build friendly atmosphere, jokes and touches of humor came out during the discussion. In addition, Harsono Hadi shared his experience about how workplace diversity drives and challenges performance. It really encouraged us to keep learning to be able to face global challenges. Time flew too fast as we enjoyed the program. At the end of the event, each of the alumnus was asked to distribute copies of outlook about RR Padang.

1st Activities on 13th January, 2013 : The Global Employment Challenges Workshop

Up till now RR Padang has successfully conducted 21 events since 2013 by focusing on three scopes of education, health, and the environment. For our hard work in RR Padang, we received two awards as The Second Best RR’s Activities in 2014 and The Best in RR 2015.  We are so glad to have the sense of belonging within a small family of VDMS Padang and what we do to maintain the spirit of Learn, Share, and Encourage.
