The Regional Representative (RR) Medan held another warm community service activity with the children at the Terima Kasih Abadi Orphanage on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The event, attended by 19 VDMI grantees and 27 children from the orphanage, began at 2:30 PM WIB with a cheerful opening by Seli Anti Laia and Florence Kanopanta as the Masters of Ceremony (MC). The program continued with warm remarks from the Vice Chairman of RR Medan, Juan Hutabarat, followed by an explanation of the agenda by Awi from the Social Division.
Before moving to the main activity, the atmosphere was livened up through an ice-breaking session led by Tiodame Layupa and Laura Sari Purba. Once the participants were energized, the children were divided into small groups to start crafting with the provided beads. Each group was guided by 2 to 4 grantees, who patiently supported and helped the children create unique and creative artwork.
During the 45-minute bead-crafting session, the room was filled with focus and joy. The children showed remarkable enthusiasm and imagination in stringing the beads together. After the crafting session ended, everyone took a short break to enjoy snacks before moving on to the presentation and sharing session. During this time, each group presented the beautiful crafts they made—such as bracelets, necklaces, rings, and phone straps—while sharing their impressions and feelings about spending time with the grantees.
The community service event ended with a photo session organized by Rony Bayer and Laura Sari from the Creative Media Division. To close the meaningful day, all grantees formed a semi-circle to shake hands and say goodbye to the children. Through this activity, it is hoped that similar social initiatives will continue sustainably and bring an even greater positive impact in the future.
