The First Activity of RR Medan
van Deventer Maas Stiching (vDMS) is one of the foundations in Indonesia which highly commits to give meaningful impact to people of Indonesia through scholarship and training particularly to professionally educated. Expected, then they could contribute to the society. To help all the Alumni to get that purpose, Van Deventer Maas Stiching initiated Alumni Association of VDMS in which all the Alumni can Share, Learn, and Encourage towards their activity. Considering the spirit of Alumni Association’s Motto which are Learn, Share and Encourage, regional representative of Medan would like to propose an event. The title is “c’est posibble de’tra post?” means “may I know you?” or in batakese “ai boi do kompak?”. It will let alumni to learn, share and encourage.
By holding this event, the purpose of RR Medan are:
- Get known VDMS alumni in Medan.
- Strengthen the relationship as VDMS alumni among different universities.
- Get known Regional Representative and Alumni Association.
Based on the data of alumni and grantees, it was expected to gather 20 people. This event has been held on 26 May 2013 at 11 a.m. Special for this event, there was an alumni sharing. As one of the alumni of VDMS, Mr. Indra Lesmana shared about his experience to others alumni particularly some ways how to be lecturer and about his educational background. Moreover, Regional Representative of Medan expected him to be supporter and adviser about some programs being done by RR Medan. Furthermore, RR Medan’s next project is to give “English Short Course” to underprivileged children for six months. Hopefully, by discussing RR Medan get things intended to that project i.e. The Area, Schedule of Volunteering. The most expected result of this meeting was all the alumni knew that their contribution is very meaningful.
