Indonesia is an archipelago country consists of many islands. The islands may be near or far from other islands. This condition is one of the challenges for van Deventer-Maas Stichting (vDMS) to gather all vDMS alumni in Indonesia. Therefore, vDMS showed one of its efforts to connect all alumni in many cities and islands in Indonesia by making the Regional Representative (RR).

There have been ten RRs in Indonesia. It means we actually need some more RRs to make the Alumni Association completely exists. The incomplete RRs may cause the distance among us. Moreover, it may make the difference between the city which has an RR and the city does not. The worst effect is the alumni in a city which does not have RR are separated as it is said that the existence of RR is needed in order to gather all alumni and to conduct many useful activities in that city.

Personally, for me, VDMS is like one big family. All grantees, alumni, administrators and all people involved in VDMS are my family. A family which is dreamed by many people is a happy and successful family and a good way to make it is by building a good communication. All of us should communicate. One of the most important roles is taken by the alumni.

Every alumna/alumnus should realize that his/her role is needed. He/she needs to keep communicating to the RR which has been existed in his/her city and if there is not any RR in his/her city, he/she needs to encourage himself/herself and other alumni in his/her city at least to keep in touch and try to propose an RR there. In short, the cooperation among alumni is really important. All of us are also like a body of a human being. If one parts of body hurts, the other parts also know and feel it. Do not let our family work alone because we need to help each other, encourage each other, and do great things together. Better Regional Representatives needs our cooperation by building a good communication. Let’s Learn, Share and Encourage.
