This is what we do as alumni and grantees from Padang. We set schelude every week to sit together to learn, share and encourage. The schedule is on Tuesday at 4 P.M. We have a small room, on the second floor of Pasar Baru, Pauh, Padang. I, (Afdal) design this small room as a place for us to discuss various topics. Every week we learn English. In this room, Silent is Golden must be eliminated from our mind before attending this place. Why? Because, everyone has to speak English. Being talk-active. No excuse. We are hoping that speaking in English will be our habit. At least, we start it at this room.

1st Learn, Share and Encourage : 15th March 2016

From a week to another week, what we do as a form of learning English is worthwhile. Almost all participants will feel shy if they are not speaking English. Whatever they want to say, they have to say, they have to speak English. We choose a certain topic to discuss one week to go. It means each participant has more time to prepare what ideas he or she will deliver. Everyone is on-fire  and feels getting the benefit of being talk-active.

By sharing, we become closer. We get more update information from all people who come. We share everything using English, starting from activity, experience, sad story, future desire, event, scholarship information, student exchange information, and many things as what we did on Tuesday (15/3). We invited four Japanese guys to discuss culture between Indonesia-Japan. Great. What we get is how Japanese people keep discipline for all aspects in their life.

That’s not enough. What we talk about should result in action. Encourage: that’s the point. When we get information about scholarship, student exchange, we encourage each other to join. As in this example: There is a  scholarship provided by the Indonesian government, namely LPDP scholarship.

2nd Learn, Share and Encourage : 22nd March 2016

We invited a grantee of this scholarship and discussed about the scholarship itself, the requirements and supporting documents, Tuesday (22/3). Now, some of us want to apply for it. So we know how we should prepare from now on. Amazing! This is small things we do which will have great impact for our future. Bravo!
