Monday, 30th of October 2016 at 3pm, one by one of VDMS Family; PIC, alumni and grantees came and met up at Hutan Ecowisata Mangrove, Oesapa Barat. There were 41 participants who took apart on this meeting (2 PICs, 7 Alumna, and 32 Grantees). The meeting started with VDMS Families’ gathering with two agendas; 1) Introduction of AA VDMS RR Kupang to the new grantees, 2) VDMS families sharing, 3) Planning for the next activity. The coordinator of AA VDMS RR Kupang, Serlinia explained about the AA VDMS Kupang and its aims, refreshed about the vision and mission of VDMS and Alumni Association.  After that, it was continued to VDMS family sharing. In this moments, alumni and grantees shared  information about learning difficulties in campus  and how to get scholarship. Some students shared about their difficulties in applying Leadership Conference 2016 in Jogja and they cannot reach the passing point of it.

Grantees from UNDANA talked about their  difficulties in meeting with their PIC and also Ms. Erniani Dethan, the new PIC of Artha Wacana Christian University shared her experience when studying in Australia with the support from Australian Awards Scholarship (AAS). The new grantees expressed their appreciation and thankful for VDMS already choose them as awardees. After the sharing session, we moved to discuss about the next event and then we agreed about VDMS SMART program. This program was initiated for sharing knowledge and skills of VDMS families for brothers and sisters who live in Orphanage. And then, we continued with cleaning together the mangrove and beach from lots of rubbish such as plastics bag, aqua cups, bottles and etc. We worked together happily.

Last but not least is photo session with much impression from alumni and grantees. Riyestin stated that ‘The nature is ours; let’s keep it clean by taking all garbage that can be taken by ourselves’.
