26 August 2023, Regional Representative (RR) Medan held a Family Gathering with the theme “The Power of Togetherness” at Taman Cinta, University of Sumatera Utara and was attended by 35 people (alumni and grantees of RR Medan). This activity aims to strengthen the feeling of brotherhood between grantees and alumni and commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. Guided by Muhammad Setiawan and Nicolaus Rado Adecandra Situmorang (grantees of the University of Sumatera Utara).

Alumni and Grantees RR Medan

Fitri Sundari (alumni from Medan State University) shared her experiences as a grantee and alumni. Now she is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Sumatera Utara. She emphasized that running a group or organization (RR Medan) requires care, a responsible spirit and cooperation. If we move together, RR Medan can be better.

Sharing Session with Fitri Sundari (Alumna Medan State University)

The activity continued with remarks from the Chairperson of RR Medan – Nopri Sinaga (alumni of Medan State University). There are several competitions prepared to convey the meaning of togetherness and cooperation, including: Lomba Rangking 1, Lomba Tarik Tambang, Lomba Membawa Guli dengan Sendok, Lomba Mencari Karet dalam Tepung, Lomba Menyusun Puzzle dan Lomba Lari Goni. Fun and laughter can be seen during the activity, thereby building interaction and solidarity.

Nopri opened a reflection and sharing session after the competition with grantees and alumni. She invited alumni and grantees to provide suggestions, input and aspirations for the next RR Medan program. We hope that through the Family Gathering, the VDMI RR Medan family will become closer, develop potential and have a positive impact on society.
