For many times, the big family of VDMS Padang held international seminar entitle “Go International, Why Not!” Wednesday (04/11) at Engku Syafe’i LPMP SUMBAR, Komp. UNP Air Tawar Barat. There were 24 grantees taking part in it, VDMS alumni, and cooperation with other instituion to run this event.

There were nearly 310 participants were interested by various topic given as Continuing Study by Scholarship, How to work in Australia and Trick to be success for IELTS Test. So, speakers are they are from IDP Australia Jakarta, alumni of some universities in Australia, Imigration office Jakarta. From IDP Australia Jakarta, the participants got information about what shoud be prepared to continue study in Australia. One of requirements is IELTS score. “Wherever you want to continue study, IELTS is the key,” said Ms. Lily, a speaker from IDP.

Not only talking about continue study, for whom want to work in Asutralia, they may take Work and Holiday Visa (WHV) program. This is cooperation between Indonesian and Austalian government under immigration office. Candidates will get some steps starting from application process, getting interview and Visa. The candidate can work in Australia during 6 months or one year by using this Visa. “The goal of this program is to exchange information, culture, knowledge among Indonesian youth and Australian,” said Eko, coordinator of WHV program from Jakarta immigration office.

After talk show, the event was continued by education fair by inviting World Class Universities from U.S.A, Canada , U.K., Australia, New Zealand, etc. The participants asked more information for host university, the requirements to get LOA, and other supporting documents. “I am so glad because of this event. Now, I am ready to continue my study abroad. Thanks VDMS,” said one of participant from State University of Padang, Elsa Fadica.
