An activity in Ramadhan month was held by VDMS grantees and alumni East Java – Bali Regional Representative on June 28th 2016. The theme of the activity was “Buka Puasa Bersama on the Road with VDMS Grantees and Alumni” in which the aim is to share goodness to others. This activity was attended by four grantees, six alumni and an alumna’s husband. It was quite different from previous activities because they had iftar by sharing food with Tukang Becak around Bintoro Street, Surabaya.
Buka Bersama Tukang Becak
To name some, this “Buka Puasa Bersama” was supported not only by VDMS alumni and grantees, but also by Samnawi restaurant as a sponsorship. Samnawi restaurant, owned by Mrs. Devi, helped in providing food and drink for the Tukan Becak. It contributed so much that VDMS alumni and grantees did not need to take much time to survey about the food.
In regard to the activity itself, VDMS alumni and grantees gathered on Taman Bintoro Street at 4.30 p.m. to prepare anything for the activity. They, then, started sharing boxes of food, drink, and some fried with the Tukang Becak on Taman Bintoro Street at 5 p.m. They also surrounded Dinoyo and Indragiri to share the boxes of food, drink, and fried with Tukang Becak. Finally, they finished at 5.45 p.m. and shared about 35 boxes. The activity was really meaningful for them because they could gather and share goodness. They hoped, there will be an activity that can attract more VDMS alumni and grantees of RR East Java – Bali. The activity that is expectedly fruitful to all alumni and grantees and surrounding.
