The recent severe flooding that hit West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh caused extensive damage, destroyed people’s property, and forced thousands of families to evacuate. Amidst this tragedy, VDMI RR Padang organized a fundraising and donation drive to ease the burden on the affected communities in Batu Busuak, Lambung Bukit Village, Pauh District, Padang City.

On Sunday (December 21, 2025), with full support from VDMI UNKRISWINA Sumba, the collected donations were distributed to VDMI RR Padang. The donations, consisting of cash and usable clothing, were immediately converted into essential items such as rice and other food supplies. Fundraising efforts had begun several weeks prior by members of VDMI RR Padang. The team then distributed the donations systematically to the affected residents, ensuring the assistance was targeted appropriately according to on-site needs. This initiative aims to foster social solidarity among members while strengthening inter-organizational collaboration.

Local residents welcomed this initiative positively. “We are very grateful for the assistance. Thank you for your concern,” said one of the affected victims. The activity ran successfully without any obstacles, strengthening the spirit of mutual cooperation amid the flood disaster. VDMI RR Padang hopes that similar actions will continue to be held to support post-disaster recovery, as a form of concern for others.
