Saturday, October 25, 2025 – Thirty grantees from the University of Sumatera Utara (USU) and Medan State University (UNIMED) gathered at the Natasyah Liora Kasih Orphanage, Jl. Taud No. 50, Sidorejo, Medan Tembung. The VDMI RR (Regional Representative) Medan Social Service Activity, which took place from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, began with a prayer by Ines Situmorang, followed by a welcome speech by the Vice Chair (Juan Hutabarat), and an exciting introduction and ice-breaking session led by Grace Rambe and Ines Situmorang. The joyful laughter of the children at the orphanage and the smiles of the grantees immediately warmed the atmosphere, creating a sense of togetherness from the very beginning.

This was followed by a 30-minute learning session in groups led by Dita Purba, where the grantees patiently and creatively taught coloring, counting, basic mathematics, and simple English. The enthusiasm of the children at the orphanage, who scrambled to answer questions, gave the grantees a deep sense of satisfaction. After that, the “Cinta, Bangga, Paham Rupiah” (CBPR) socialization by CBR ambassadors Martha and Ryan explained the meaning of the rupiah as a symbol of national sovereignty through stories of heroes on banknotes, interactive games, and lively question and answer sessions with small prizes—which were greeted with cheers and cheerful laughter.

After a break filled with friendly conversation, the event closed with a heartfelt impression from Meri, a child from the orphanage, who was moved to tears. She expressed her gratitude for the visit and attention from the VDMI RR Medan family. This was followed by the donation of basic necessities and clothing by Marvel, a closing prayer by Sinar Togatorop, and a group photo. This activity was not just about sharing material goods, but also about fostering empathy, national pride, and the lesson that true happiness comes from time, attention, and genuine love—leaving lasting memories for everyone involved.
