Rumah Baca Kampung Tanjung is a guided village by the alumni and grantees of VDMS RR Padang. The activity done besides reading is learning to open opportunities for volunteers who want to share knowledge at this Rumah Baca. Sunday, 23rd July 2017, we had a sharing activity at this place started from 10:00 to 12:30 pm. This activity facilitated by Tya (volunteer) and Elva (alumni of VDMS).
The activities that we had are:
- Introducing animals’ names in English
We tell them how to recognize the animals’ names visually and by audio. The facilitators provided photographs or pictures of animals and then participants mentioned the animals’ names in English. It was in a circular sitting position and all of them took part in this activity. This made them more enthusiastic in learning.

Learning while singing is very fun and never be boring. It was applied in the name of the body in English.

- Memorizing the color names in English
In this session, the facilitator wrote the names of the color and shows the color mentioned, and then the participants read and memorized them. After 15 minutes, they would be asked to write the names of the color and read them.
At the end of the lesson, the facilitator reviewed all the things that have been taught and learned. The participants could repeat them all correctly. This activity ended with a meal together at 13.00. “Thank you for sharing with us”.
